View from Punta Cuyoc Pass.
A backward glance after descending Punta Cuyoc Pass. That is a very large waterfall in the foreground.
Camp (blue dot) on the banks of Quebrada Huanacpatay, just before the quebrada takes its vertical plunge, merging into the river from the intersecting valley below.
Caryl and one of the burros scrambling across an earthen bridge.
Un corrale de pastores altoandino, typical of the shepard homesteads sparsley dotting the Cordillera, a stone hut, grass roof, no fireplace because there is no wood, and two sheep pens. This one sits snug atop the Punta Tapush Pass, beneath a blanket of fresh snow.

The muffled silence of snow travel, train steaming along, cardshark Percy, his horse, and her six month colt in tow.

View from atop Punta Tapush Pass, trailmarkers in the foreground.
