The Apartment ]
| After spending our first month fighting gum infections and scouting business opportunites while living in private hotel rooms in Hotel Milan, we finally scored an apartment, located over a vegetarian restaurant in the center of town, just 2 blocks away from Parque Calderón. | |

The restaurant, Govinda's, was opened a couple years ago by a group of Hare Krsnas, and was then sold to two local couples with all decorations intact. It has a very middle-eastern feel, with Indian blankets and Yogic paraphernalia everywhere. |

An Ecuadorian banderita attached to a light fixture on our balcony. Many an hour was spent on the balcony reading, drinking coffee, absorbing afternoon rainshowers, playing the guitar, conversing, and watching passersby. |
